CARE & MAINTENANCE
Care and Maintenance Guide
To ensure your furniture retains its beauty, comfort, and structural integrity for years to come, we recommend following these simple care guidelines tailored to different materials.
1. Wooden Furniture (Beds, Tables, and TV Units)
Dusting: Dust regularly using a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Always wipe in the direction of the wood grain.
Cleaning: For deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, immediately followed by a dry cloth to prevent moisture damage. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or silicone-based polishes.
Protection: Use coasters, placemats, and felt pads under hot dishes, beverages, and decorative items to prevent water rings and scratches. Keep wooden pieces away from direct, prolonged sunlight and heating vents to prevent fading and warping.
2. Upholstered Seating (Sofas, Wing Chairs, and Recliners)
Vacuuming: Vacuum fabric and velvet upholstery weekly using an upholstery attachment to remove dust and prevent dirt from settling into the fibers.
Spills and Stains: Address spills immediately by blotting (never rubbing) with a clean, dry, absorbent cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild, water-free upholstery solvent or consult a professional cleaning service.
Cushion Care: Plump and rotate loose cushions regularly to distribute wear evenly and maintain their shape.
3. Marble and Laminate Surfaces
Daily Care: Wipe surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. For marble, use a pH-neutral cleaner specifically formulated for natural stone.
Stain Prevention: Marble is porous; wipe up acidic spills (like citrus, wine, or coffee) instantly to prevent etching.
Laminate Care: Laminates are highly durable but should be protected from direct heat. Always use trivets under hot pans or appliances.
4. Metal Accents and Hardware
Maintenance: Wipe metal bases, chair legs, and cabinet handles with a soft, microfiber cloth.
Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive scrubbing pads or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can scratch the finish or strip away protective coatings like brass or chrome plating.
General Rules for All Furniture
Moving Furniture: Always lift furniture when moving it. Dragging pieces across the floor can damage both the furniture legs and your flooring.
Environment: Maintain a consistent indoor humidity level to prevent wood from expanding or contracting excessively.
